Health and wellness grant
This grant allows you to apply for items or services that can assist in improving your general health and wellbeing.
Recent examples include furniture, white goods, electrical items, and services that assist in health and wellness.
Personal development grant
This grant allows you to apply for items that assist in educational or work-related costs, or items aimed at improving life skills.
Recent examples include computers, course fees and work tools.
Private dental grant
This grant allows you to choose your own private dentist. While the total amount of available grant funds may be capped, this grant can be used as part of a direct payment to your dentist.
Queensland Health dental grant
The Queensland Health dental grant is unique. It allows you to receive a course of free dental treatment without being on public waiting lists or having an impact on your ability to access other grants.
In other words, application for this grant ensures a priority referral to your local oral health clinic for treatment. You may still apply for other grants without any financial impacts on grant funding caps.
You can apply for a grant at any time
Once you are registered with the Foundation, you can lodge your application for a grant at any time. While there are financial limits on grant applications, you can apply for more than one type of grant at a time.
You can:
- apply online
- ask us to send you a form in the mail to post back
- ask us to help you prepare your application form.

The Board of Advice meets 8 times a year to consider all grant applications.
To ensure your grant is received and assessed at the next board meeting, you should note the following closing dates:
- Round 5 closes 4 July 2025.
- Round 6 closes 15 August 2025.
- Round 7 closes 26 September 2025.
- Round 8 closes 7 November 2025.

What happens after you apply
After you have submitted your application, we'll contact you to confirm we have received it. If we need any extra information to support your application, we'll discuss it with you then.
We’ll also let you know which round your grant will be a part of, and the likely timeframe for an outcome.
Once we receive the outcome, we’ll contact you to let you know the decision and next steps.
Grants remain accessible for up to 12 months after approval.
